Indiana Amends Transportation Code on Vehicle Excise, Wheel Taxes

The Indiana Governor signed a law amending the transportation code related to vehicle excise and wheel taxes. The law allows a county to implement a vehicle excise tax or wheel tax on vehicles registered in the county but not in any municipality within the county, provided that the tax takes effect after Dec. 31, 2026.
