Indiana DOR Announces Gas Tax Holiday, Tax Amnesty Program

The Indiana Department of Revenue (DOR) published a bulletin announcing significant tax updates for the state. The announcements include the suspension of the gas use tax from April 8 through June 7 and the suspension of the gasoline excise tax from May 6 through June 7. The bulletin also announces the 2026 tax amnesty program, which will run from July 15 through September 9, offering eligible taxpayers the opportunity to resolve outstanding tax liabilities for periods ending prior to Jan. 1, 2024, with a waiver of penalties, interest, and collection fees.
