Indiana DOR Denies Multinational Conglomerate Abatement of Income Tax Penalties, Interest

The Indiana Department of Revenue (DOR) denied a taxpayer’s protest of penalties and interest for failing to pay estimated taxes, and for not timely filing and paying taxes for 2023. The taxpayer, a multinational conglomerate, argued that it had processes in place to ensure timely payments. However, the Department noted the taxpayer had a history of failing to make required estimated payments in prior years and was thus put on notice.
