Indiana DOR Determines Finds Adjustment to Taxpayer’s Individual Income Tax Assessment Was Correct

The Indiana Department of Revenue (DOR) Sept. 27 determined in a letter ruling that Taxpayer, a state resident, failed to establish that an adjustment to his individual income tax assessment was incorrect. Based on an adjustment to Taxpayer’s federal return, the DOR found that Taxpayer underreported his federal adjusted gross income and proposed an additional tax assessment. Taxpayer protested, contending that the extra income was from a tax refund he received from Missouri.
