The Indiana Department of Revenue (DOR) March 20 issued tips to avoid common mistakes which may delay getting a refund while filing taxes this season. The DOR advised taxpayers to take a few moments before filing to make sure they aren’t committing a common filing error including: 1) math errors; 2) submitting wrong or missing personal information; 3) claiming credits and deductions to which taxpayers aren’t entitled; and 4) forgetting attachments. The DOR also stated that e-filed returns have only a two percent error rate and are typically more user-friendly. [Ind. Dep’t of Revenue, Tax Talk Blog, 03/20/19]
