Indiana DOR Sustains Taxpayer’s Protest Against Additional Income Tax Assessment

Sept. 18, 2025, 6:46 PM UTC

The Indiana Department of Revenue (DOR) issued a ruling regarding the taxpayer’s protest against the assessment of additional income tax for 2022. The taxpayer, an Indiana resident, filed a 2022 Indiana Full-Year Resident Individual Income Tax Return (“IT-40”). The Department adjusted the return and issued a Notice of Proposed Assessment. The taxpayer protested. After reviewing the protest, the DOR agreed that the Department had incorrectly assessed the taxpayer’s additional tax. Consequently, the DOR sustained the taxpayers’ protest.
