Indiana Review Board Finds No Change in Property Tax Assessments of Taxpayer’s Residential Property

The Indiana Board of Tax Review (BTR) Aug. 3 affirmed the LaPorte County Assessor’s property tax assessments of Taxpayer’s residential property. Taxpayer appealed the assessor’s assessments, sought a refund of all property taxes he paid, and asked that current and future assessments on the property cease. Taxpayer contended that the repeated levying of taxes on his property violated his inalienable right to own property and that the assessments were administered without duly considering all facts.
