Businesses in the Kansas City area will no longer be able to obtain tax breaks by moving across the Missouri-Kansas border under a newly established truce between the two states.
Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly (D) signed an executive order (E.O. 19-09) Aug. 2 barring tax incentives from the Kansas Department of Commerce for businesses located in Kansas City, Mo., which move into the Kansas City region on the Kansas side.
