Kansas Extends Angel Investor Tax Credit Program

The Kansas Governor signed a law that includes: 1) extending the sunset date for the Angel Investor Tax Credit through tax year 2031; and 2) requiring for tax year 2027 and thereafter, 25 percent of the total amount of Angel Investor Tax Credits allowed each tax year be utilized for investors in qualified businesses located in counties with populations of 50,000 or less, provided the amount of credits requested by Oct. 1 are sufficient to allow such distribution. The law takes effect after its publication in the statute book. [H.B. 2464, enacted 04/09/26]
