The Kansas Governor signed a law extending the statewide 20-mill property tax levy. The law also includes: 1) modifying deadlines for county clerks to mail tax statements and information to taxpayers; 2) prohibiting the state Board of Tax Appeals from charging a filing fee to a taxpayer who already has another appeal pending for the same property; and 3) extending state reimbursement to counties for the printing and postage costs of mailing tax notices to taxpayers for calendar year 2026. The law takes effect upon publication in the Kansas Register. [H.B. 2125, enacted 04/24/25].
