Louisiana DOR Announces Second Amendment Weekend Sales Tax Holiday

The Louisiana Department of Revenue Aug. 29 announced the annual state Second Amendment weekend holiday on Friday, Sept. 1, through Sunday, Sept. 3. Louisiana S.B. 56 reinstated the Second Amendment weekend holiday for 2023, after its suspension since 2018. The sales tax holiday provides a state sales and use tax exemption on any consumer purchase of firearms, ammunition, and specified hunting supplies, including archery items, hunting apparel and certain types of knives.
