Louisiana DOR Announces Second Amendment Weekend Sales Tax Holiday

The Louisiana Department of Revenue (DOR) Sept. 3 announced that the Second Amendment Weekend Sales Tax Holiday will be Sept. 6 through 8. The sales tax exemption applies to all consumer purchases of firearms, ammunition, and specified hunting supplies, including archery items, hunting apparel, and certain types of knives. The exemption applies to individual consumer purchases only and purchases made at any DOR-authorized retailer, including gun and hunting supply stores, gun and hunting supply dealers, and gun and hunting supply wholesalers.
