Maine Revenue Services published a bulletin announcing various tax law changes effective 2026. The changes effective Jan. 1, 2026, include: 1) repealing the service provider tax and subjecting services previously taxed under that regime to sales tax; 2) creating a sales tax for digital audiovisual and digital audio services; 3) increasing the cannabis sales tax rate; 4) introducing new sales tax exemptions for medical equipment and mobility aids; and 5) expanding tribal provisions.
