Maine Revenue Services (MRS) July 1 released a revised certificate of discharge of an estate tax lien with instructions. The certificate is used in estates of decedents owning real property in the state. The certificate must be recorded in the Registry of Deeds. MRS won’t sign the certificate without the estate tax form submission. The form includes line-by-line instructions for completing the certificate along with examples. [Me.
