The Maryland Governor signed a law authorizing Calvert County to issue up to $80,957,080 in general obligation bonds for public facilities projects. The law mandates the county levy ad valorem property taxes sufficient to cover all principal and interest costs over the life of the debt. Additionally, the law also exempts bonds from state and local taxation. The law takes effect June 1. [H.B. 1513, enacted 04/28/26]
