Maryland Authorizes Property Tax Credit for Rural Legacy Areas (Bill 2 of 2)

The Maryland Governor signed a law authorizing Anne Arundel County to provide a property tax credit for properties located within designated Rural Legacy Areas when the property owner has sold development rights under the state’s Rural Legacy Program. The law took effect June 1 and applies to all taxable years beginning after June 30, 2026. [S.B. 851, enacted 05/26/26]
