Maryland has called on a federal judge to toss big technology’s legal challenge to its tax on digital advertising, objecting to the federal court’s authority to resolve a state tax dispute.
Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh filed a reply brief Monday, calling on U.S. District Court Judge Deborah K. Chasanow to dismiss a lawsuit contesting Maryland’s first-in-the-nation Digital Advertising Gross Revenues Tax. The law is being challenged by a coalition of tech industry heavyweights and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
