Maryland Caps Theatrical Production Tax Credit at $20 Million

The Maryland Governor signed a law limiting the theatrical production tax credit by establishing a $20,000,000 cap on the aggregate amount of tax credits that may be carried forward from prior fiscal years. The law extends the sunset date to June 30, 2032. The law takes effect July 1. [H.B. 472, enacted 04/14/26]
