Maryland Establishes Process for Community Solar Agricultural Use Assessment

The Maryland Governor signed a law establishing a process for the State Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT) to determine in advance of construction whether a proposed agrivoltaics project will qualify for the agricultural use assessment. The law extends the Public Service Commission approval deadline to Dec. 31, 2030. The law takes effect June 1. [S.B. 344, enacted 04/14/26]
