The Maryland Governor signed a law concerning payment of property taxes. The law includes provisions: 1) requiring the State Tax Sale Ombudsman to contract with a vendor to operate an installment payment program available to any homeowner for the payment of property taxes; 2) authorizing counties and municipalities to establish installment payment programs for taxes in arrears on any residential property; and 3) exempting from the requirement to pay all taxes and charges on residential property prior to transfer the property of a decedent’s estate which is subject to a payment plan and transferred to an heir, legatee, or grantee ...
