The Maryland Governor May 16 signed a law concerning property tax credit for dwelling houses owned by disabled veterans. The law expands eligibility to veterans with a 100 percent nonpermanent disability rating and increases the credit to 50 percent for veterans with at least a 75 percent disability rating who do not already qualify for a full exemption. The law applies to the taxable year beginning June 30. The law takes effect June 1. [S.B. 6, enacted 05/16/24]
