The Maryland Governor signed a law expanding certain state tax and property tax relief benefits for active duty military service members, veterans, and their families. The law includes: 1) exempting some military retirement pay from state income tax; 2) granting disabled veterans and surviving spouses property tax credits or exemptions on their primary residence; and 3) allowing tax payment deferrals for certain disabled veterans or their surviving spouses.
