Massachusetts pulled more than $140 million in unpaid taxes into state coffers during the final weeks of its recently ended fiscal year under a short-term tax amnesty program, the state Department of Revenue announced Tuesday.
The 60-day amnesty, which concluded June 30 at the end of the 2025 fiscal year, collected $143 million and waived $30 million in penalties that would have been applied to the participating taxpayers. Department spokeswoman Nathalie Dailida declined to comment on the number of participating taxpayers and the revenues collected from each of the state’s primary tax programs.
