Massachusetts hopes to collect $100 million in revenue under a tax amnesty program authorized by the fiscal year 2025 budget, which Gov. Maura Healey (D) signed this week.
The state Department of Revenue plans to release guidelines for taxpayers shortly, Michael Fatale, the department’s general counsel, said during the Multistate Tax Commission’s annual meeting this week in Denver.
Provisions authorizing the program, and the $100 million revenue estimate, were part of the conference committee report for the primary budget bill, H.4800.
