Massachusetts DOR Releases Updates to Recently Released Guidance on E-Filing, Paying Personal Income Taxes

The Massachusetts Department of Revenue (DOR) Jan. 27 released two updates to its recently released guidance on electronic filing (e-filing) and paying personal income taxes. The DOR provides: 1) steps to follow for filing federal and Massachusetts tax returns; and 2) information on 1040.com, which offers free federal and Massachusetts tax returns for taxpayers with adjusted gross incomes between $17,100 and $84,000 or less, and any age, or active duty military with adjusted gross incomes of $84,000 or less.
