Massachusetts House Votes to Make Film Tax Credits Permanent

Eligible filmmakers would continue to receive tax credits in Massachusetts, under a measure passed by House lawmakers on Monday.

The state’s two film tax credits, scheduled to sunset in 2022, would be permanent, according to the measure that passed unanimously. The vote “sends a clear message to the film industry” that the state wants the economic benefits that productions bring to the state, House Speaker Ron Mariano (D), said following the vote.
