Supporters of a shorter work week addressed Massachusetts lawmakers Tuesday on behalf of a bill that would provide tax credits for businesses participating in a pilot program exploring the potential benefits of a four-day schedule.

The proposal, H.3849, would establish a two-year pilot program called the “Massachusetts Smart Work Week,” aimed at studying the impact of four-day work weeks without reducing workers’ overall pay and benefits.
