Michigan Governor Issues Executive Order to Establish Marijuana Regulatory Agency

The Michigan Governor March 1 issued an executive order to establish the Marijuana Regulatory Agency for excise tax purposes. The measures include: 1) creating the Marijuana Regulatory Agency to perform the duties and powers of the Medical Marihuana Licensing Board, Marihuana Advisory Panel, and Bureau of Marijuana Regulation; 2) abolishing the licensing board, advisory panel, and bureau; 3) detailing the administrative structure of the new agency; 4) transferring the duties of the Michigan Unarmed Combat Commission to the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs; and 5) providing the agency implementation procedures.
