The Michigan Department of Treasury Oct. 1 announced changes made by 2018 Public Act 118 for individual income tax purposes. The changes include: 1) revising the due date for filing wage statements to Jan. 31, 2019; 2) enabling employer using Michigan Treasury Online to upload wage statements prior to filing Form 5081 beginning January 2019; 3) requiring the employers with greater than or equal to 250 employees to file the required Form 5081 electronically; and 4) requiring that wage statements shouldn’t accompany a mailed Form 5081 filing.
