Michigan Treasury Publishes Updated School District Codes for Individual Income Tax Forms, Property Tax Credit

The Michigan Department of Treasury Jan. 1 published updated school district codes for 2021. When more than one school district has the same name, the county or city name helps taxpayers choose the right district. Residents should enter the code for the district where they lived on Dec. 31, 2021, and nonresidents should enter “10000" in the school district code box on Form MI-1040, Michigan Individual Income Tax Return, or Form MI-1040CR, Michigan Homestead Property Tax Credit Claim.
