Michigan Treasury Releases Revised Form, Instructions for Transmittal of Magnetic Media Reporting of W-2s, W-2Gs, 1099s

The Michigan Department of Treasury released a revised form and instructions for businesses to complete regarding the Transmittal for Magnetic Media Reporting of W-2s, W-2Gs, and 1099s. The Instructions include information for businesses on: 1) the purpose and definitions of each component of the form and what needs to be reported; 2) where to send copies of Federal Form EFW2 electronically; 3) formatting instructions for state-level withholding; and 4) more information on Michigan Treasury Online (MTO), mailing and correcting magnetic media, record retention, and contact information.
