The Minnesota Department of Revenue (DOR) Nov. 9 announced the Nov. 18 due date for the October distributor cigarette and tobacco tax return for excise tax purposes. The DOR provides that on or after Jan. 1, 2021, the excise tax rate will be 15.2 cents per cigarette and the cigarette sales tax rate will be 63.3 cents per pack of 20 cigarettes. Taxpayers can file and pay the taxes due electronically through e-Services.
