The Minnesota Department of Revenue (DOR) Jan. 2 announced that the state’s motor fuel tax rate increased on Jan. 1 to $0.318 per gallon, which includes a $0.283 excise tax rate and a $0.035 debt service surcharge. The qualifying service station credit rate changed for North Dakota to $0.058 per gallon for gasoline and diesel fuel, and a new credit was introduced for South Dakota at $0.022 per gallon for gasoline and $0.008 per gallon for diesel fuel, effective as of Jan. 1.
