The Minnesota Department of Revenue (DOR) announced that effective October 1, it will begin administering a new 3 percent lodging tax in the Lake Vermilion area. The tax will fund local tourism efforts, and applies to lodging facilities including hotels, resorts, vacation rentals and others.
