Minnesota Tax Court Dismisses Property Tax Appeal for Failure to Comply With Disclosure Requirements

May 15, 2024, 1:41 PM UTC

The Minnesota Tax Court April 12 dismissed a property tax appeal filed by Taxpayer challenging the estimated market value of an apartment building. Taxpayer failed to provide the county assessor with the required financial information about the income-producing property by the statutory deadline. The court found Taxpayer was informed of the disclosure requirement but did not provide the information within 30 days as allowed under the statute. Thus, the court granted the County’s motion to dismiss for failure to comply with the disclosure requirements. [Kelly v. County of Anoka, Minn. T.C., No. 02-CV-23-2176, 04/12/24]
