Mississippi DOR Proposes Amending Property Tax Rule on Homestead Exemption

The Mississippi Department of Revenue (DOR) July 3 proposed amending a regulation regarding the homestead exemption for property tax purposes. The proposed rule includes information regarding additional homestead exemptions for unremarried surviving spouses of certain veterans and other individuals, as provided in HB 812 from the 2025 Regular Session.
