Mississippi Enacts Sales Tax Exemptions for Agricultural Lime, Fencing

The Mississippi Governor signed a law to amend the state’s sales tax code by exempting retail sales of lime used for agricultural purposes from taxation, and establishing a reduced tax rate of 1.5 percent for fencing materials used for livestock containment when sold to commercial farmers. The law takes effect and enters into force from and after July 1. [H.B. 4060, enacted 04/06/26]
