Mississippi Extends Southaven’s 1 Percent Restaurant Tax to 2030

The Mississippi Governor signed a law that amends Chapter 955 of the Local and Private Laws of 2011, to extend the repeal date from July 1, 2026, to July 1, 2030, for the law authorizing the City of Southaven to impose a tax of up to 1 percent on gross proceeds from sales of beverages and prepared food at restaurants. The law takes effect and enters into force from and after its passage. [H.B. 4003, enacted 04/01/26]
