Mississippi Sets Stage for Marketplaces to Collect Taxes July 1

Marketplace providers operating in Mississippi will be required to collect sales and use tax taxes on behalf of sellers using their platforms beginning July 1 under legislation headed to the governor’s desk.

Both chambers of the Mississippi Legislature have approved H.B. 379, which would impose tax collection requirements on e-commerce websites with annual sales over $250,000.
