Missouri DOR Releases Motor Fuel Excise Tax Refund Claim Form

The Missouri Department of Revenue (DOR) Dec. 3, 2019 released Form 5631, Motor Fuel Refund Claim, with instructions for excise tax purposes. Taxpayers must: 1) only use the form for refunds on compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, or propane purchases; 2) file the refund claim within one year of the date of purchase or April 15 following the year of purchase, whichever is later; 3) keep Form 4924 on file with the DOR or submit it with Form 5631; 4) verify their address because refund checks can’t be forwarded; and 5) submit only original invoices.
