Montana DOR Proposes Amendments on Marijuana Recall Requirements

The Montana Department of Revenue (DOR) proposed amendments to regulations governing marijuana and marijuana product recalls. The proposed amendments clarify the primary party responsible when multiple licensees are involved in a recall, specify events that can trigger recalls, establish mandatory timelines for critical recall actions, enhance documentation and tracking requirements, and add explicit enforcement mechanisms for noncompliance. The amendments apply to marijuana cultivators, manufacturers, dispensaries, and testing laboratories and aim to improve regulatory clarity and strengthen public health and safety protections.
