The North Carolina legislature has approved a measure to exempt digitally provided educational material from sales taxes.
The House approved a bill (H.B. 1079) Thursday that provides the educational material exemption, along with other changes to state sales taxes. The legislation had passed the Senate on Tuesday.
The bill now goes to Gov. Roy Cooper (D), whose office didn’t respond immediately to a question about whether he would sign it.
