New York state has garnered over $1.55 billion in taxes from mobile sports betting since launching in January 2022, setting a record for national mobile sports wagering revenue.
New Yorkers have placed wagers totaling $35.7 billion in the first two years, Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) said Friday. The state taxes gross gaming revenue at a 51% rate, the highest in the nation. The funds have gone to education aid, sports programs benefiting underserved youth, and problem gambling education and treatment.
