The Nebraska Department of Revenue (DOR) Dec. 22 issued information about the calculation of the motor fuels tax. From Jan. 1, 2024 through June 30, 2024, the motor fuels tax will be increased to 29.1 cents per gallon, from the current rate of 29.0 cents per gallon. The DOR provides their calculation method for determining this rate, including the wholesale tax rate, variable tax rate, and fixed tax rate used. [Neb. Dep’t of Revenue, Press Release, 12/22/23]
