Nebraska DOR Issues Press Release on Homestead Exemption Application

The Nebraska Department of Revenue (DOR) issued a press release reminding property owners to file the Nebraska homestead exemption application with their county assessor between Feb. 2 and June 30 to receive relief from property taxes by exempting all or a portion of the taxable value of their residence. The homestead exemption is available to persons aged 65 or older before Jan. 1, 2025, qualified disabled individuals, or qualified disabled veterans and their surviving spouses, with some categories subject to income and residence valuation limitations.
