The Nevada Governor signed a law regarding the taxation and regulation of remote retail sales of cigars and pipe tobacco to consumers in Nevada. The law includes: 1) imposing a 30 percent tax on the actual cost of cigars and pipe tobacco sold by remote retail sellers to Nevada consumers; 2) requiring remote retail sellers to obtain a license from the Nevada Department of Taxation and submit monthly tax reports and payments; and 3) establishing rules and requirements for remote retail sellers.
