The Nevada Governor May 17 signed a law revising provisions governing the sales tax holiday for National Guard members and their relatives, for sales and use tax purposes. The law includes measures: 1) revising eligibility requirements for claiming an exemption; 2) providing that a retailer must collect the tax on the purchase of tangible personal property that qualifies for the exemption; 3) clarifying that exempt taxpayers must submit to the Department of Taxation a request for a tax refund along with a copy of the letter of exemption and receipts issued to the taxpayer by the retailer indicating the tax ...
