New Jersey Governor Signs Law Expanding Film Tax Incentives, Increasing Credit Limits for Studios

The New Jersey Governor signed a law that amends the Garden State Film and Digital Media Jobs Act, to expand and refine tax incentives for film and digital media production companies operating in the state, with increased credit limits for New Jersey studio partners and film-lease production companies. The law includes: 1) adding protections for companies facing circumstances outside their control; 2) establishing diversity and economic development incentives; and 3) allowing the Director of Taxation to purchase unused tax credits at 95 percent of value for qualifying New Jersey studio partners.
