New Jersey Superior Court Finds Regional School District Not Qualified for Exemption from Education Aid

The New Jersey Superior Court Jan. 16 affirmed the Commissioner of Education’s decision, finding that the petitioner school district did not qualify for the statutory-based exemption from reductions in state education aid. The petitioner, a regional school district located in Gloucester County and comprised of the Townships of Harrison and Mantua, had received reductions in state aid from 2018 to 2023, totaling approximately $1,600,000 due to being overfunded under the School Funding Reform Act.
