New Jersey Tax Division Announces Launch of Mediation Program

The New Jersey Division of Taxation published a technical tax bulletin announcing the launch of a Mediation Pilot Program that will allow taxpayers to resolve certain corporate business tax and sales and use tax disputes through mediation starting Oct. 1. The program aims to provide a vehicle for quickly and finally resolving tax controversies outside of formal appeals processes, and will run for 24 months until Sept. 30, 2027, before being evaluated for permanence.
